About us

Quality health care for you and your family
Geisinger is growing in Mountain Top with the opening of a new medical facility in the heart of town. Geisinger Mountain Top features primary care for all ages with family medicine and internal medicine physicians. Our Partners in Pediatrics team provides general pediatrics as well as pediatric endocrinology and pediatric gastroenterology specialists. A ConvenientCare Walk-In Clinic, nutrition, lab and radiology services are also all under the same roof. We even provide same-day and evening appointments. We are welcoming new patients and Geisinger accepts most major health insurance plans.

Residency program
The Kistler Family Medicine Residency is named in honor of David W. Kistler, M.D., former Chief of Staff at Geisinger Wyoming Valley and a family physician in the Wyoming Valley for more than 50 years. Family medicine residents provide care at Geisinger community practice sites at Dallas, Kingston, Kistler Clinic and Mountain Top.

Patients and families can rest assured they are receiving the best care and treatment when being seen by a family medicine resident. Having already finished medical school, Geisinger residents are well trained to serve as the primary care physician for patients. Residents work in teams with nurses, physician assistants and board certified family physicians. Each day that a resident cares for patients in a Geisinger office a Geisinger family physician reviews the care plan and answers residents’ questions.

Residents can:
• Take medical histories
• Perform physicals
• Perform some office procedures
• Plan routine screenings
• Analyze data
• Make diagnosis
• Write prescriptions
• Refer patients to specialists
