About us

Geisinger Holy Spirit Cancer Center physicians and staff provide care for patients with breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer and other cancers. Our highly trained board-certified radiation oncologist, medical physicist, radiation therapists and registered nurses are committed to caring for you and to beating your cancer.

Gamma knife
Geisinger Holy Spirit uses the Leksell Gamma Knife Icon™, the newest and most sophisticated radiosurgery system, to treat an array of complex lesions/tumors, such as certain brain tumors, vascular malformations and functional disorders. The Gamma knife offers an alternative for many patients for whom traditional brain surgery is not an option.
 
o  Performed by a highly skilled neurosurgery team with extensive Gamma knife experience
o  Safe option for patients unable to undergo invasive surgery (frameless treatment available where warranted)
o  Outpatient procedure with a quick recovery time

Our experienced breast care team treats the full spectrum of diseases and conditions affecting the breasts. From risk assessment to screening and diagnosis to treatment and follow-up, our staff provides personalized care and support. Services include:

o  State-of-the-art risk assessment and management, including genetic testing
o  Screening and follow-up exams for new patients
o  Consults for patients newly diagnosed with cancer, or with atypical biopsy results
o  Minimally invasive, image-guided, and surgical biopsies
o  Surgical treatment, including breast-conserving and sentinel lymph node procedures, mastectomy, and breast reconstructive surgery
o  Post-op/post-cancer treatment visits
o  Survivorship appointments for breast cancer patients
o  Physical and occupational therapy, including range of motion and lymphedema therapy, and myofascial release
o  Treatment for benign breast diseases, including breast pain
